12 year old independent film-maker Yusuf Ahmed has produced a video interpretation of the song “Pages of Hope” produced last month by the Hip-Hop duo Lines of Faith and Dawud Wharnsby. View the video on Youtube here.
“Yusuf Ahmed’s video/image-montage for “Pages of Hope” sends chills down my spine when I view it. Nobody on our production team asked him to make the video... I couldn’t imagine a better and more grass-roots visual tribute to Anne Frank than what was created by Yusuf ...I am honoured that Yusuf decided to collaborate with Lines of Faith and I on this song.”

Beginning January 2010 Dawud will be accepting invitations for House Concerts from private hosts wanting to arrange intimate concerts in their homes.
The trend of House Concerts is spreading far and wide as music lovers seek out more traditional and organic ways of enjoying live music. Chaotic auditoriums, expensive theatres and loud pubs make it hard to truly connect with any artist. Why not enjoy live music with friends and neighbours in the comfort of your own livingroom, rec-room or back garden - while directly supporting the work of independent artists?
Dawud has always preferred intimate shows and direct connection with his supporters. Keep and eye on Dawud’s 2010 Itinerary and drop us a line at Enter Into Peace if you see him in your area. We may be able to set up a time for him to visit your home for an intimate evening of live music that you and your friends will never forget.

Dawud has added something new to his list of educational presentations offered to schools, colleges and community groups.
Based around his new poetry anthology, “For Whom The Troubadour Sings” the seminar-style presentation (with its necessary quota of songs!) delves more deeply into Dawud’s writing styles, the philosophy surrounding his work and his personal reflections on overcoming odds to achieve his childhood dream of being writer. The new presentation will be premiered this November 2009 during Dawud's tour of UK.
See a list of all the educational workshops Dawud offers here and watch out in 2010 for a few new ones.

Dawud Wharnsby joins millions of families globally in welcoming Ramadan - the spiritual period of reflection and fasting, lasting approximately one month.
In honour of Ramadan, Dawud and world renowned musician Atif Aslam have contributed to a public service announcement backed by Olper's, one of Pakistan’s foremost milk distributors. Filmed in Morocco, Pakistan and Brunei, the PSA celebrates the oneness of humanity and features vocals and appearances by both artists. Depicting “random acts of kindness”, the ad also represents the important spirit of unity, that is so much a part of Ramadan’s tradition.
Primarily running on Pakistani television stations during the month of Ramadan (beginning August 21st), viewers globally will be able to catch the PSA on satellite TV or here on Youtube.

Several obscure recordings by Dawud have now been uploaded to the media section of Wharnsby.com for free download as MP3s.
In addition to the songs “Dip In The Shallow End” and “Argus Array” (which have been available as free downloads for the past few years) those who may enjoy the more "experimental" side to Dawud’s creative outpourings will be pleased to find a batch of new tracks to collect.
Dawud’s personal notes on each song also provide some background on the recordings as well as the inspiration behind them.
Look forward to more free music here in coming months - including live performances, demo recordings, alternative versions of CD tracks and material from Dawud’s early beginnings with other bands.
Everyone enjoyed the performances of Idris & Dawud, but what made them so unique and special were the positive messages they gave out while entertaining adults and children.
Our children were enthralled. Everywhere we went in school the children were
coming up to Dawud & Idris and wanting to talk to them.
It was one of the best ways I have seen, as a teacher, of involving children in thinking about the world they live in, in a positive way.
The messages of Peace and Love were delivered so effectively.
One of our most challenging pupils said to me "Everyone is really OK if you
get to know them. Them Musicians had some good ideas."
Parents and children at school keep asking me when they are coming back.
